Sessions (cont.)

Austin
Josh
Regular sessions help Austin keep things in check, and homework isn't an issue anymore. He's also on a casein and gluten restricted diet to help with related issues. This is a good example of a multi-modal approach by parents who combine treatment options for greater results.

Josh, a 5th grader and sports fanatic who can recite stats most adults wouldn't know plays a Smartbrain™ game. Making a connection is what it's all about. Before coming for biofeedback, Josh was depressed and struggling in school. After brain mapping confirmed the existence of ADD, he began coming twice a week and supplements his sessions with talk therapy.

Patrick
Allison

At first, Patrick was suffering from a bad depression. Now he regulates his own brain waves to help himself.

After several different medications which they were unable to regulate, his doctors found one that seemed to agree with him. About the same time, he began coming to Dr. O'Donnell for biofeedback.

As you can see, here's another multi-modal approach that works. Treatment need not be an either/or situation in every case, and this is a nice example of how the two can work together for the benefit of the client.

What Parents Say:

"It (biofeedback) lets him reign in his emotions so we can keep them at a manageable level."

– Francine F. , Austin's mother
"Josh definitely has a connection with Dr. Sam, he can get him to concentrate and do the things he needs to do to improve, and I am seeing improvement in his overall attitude. He doesn't get upset as much as he used to, so I see that the biofeedback is working."

– Jeri H., Josh's mother
"He had a lot of anxiety just from loss of control, and I think this has been important for him to do along with the medication. He really needed to see some hope at that point. It seems to be calmimg for him, and I think he identifies with Dr. Sam because he's easy to get along with."

– Patricia A. , Patrick's mother
